What is Du’a/Supplication?

“اَلدُّعَاءُ هُوَالْعِبَادَةُ”

Du’a is Worship

Q: What is Du’a?

A: Du’a is talking to Allah. It is of two types:

  1. Du’a of Asking:

This is when we ask Allah for good things like help, safety, or blessings, and also ask Him to protect us from bad things in this life and the hereafter.

  1. Du’a of Worship:

This is when we worship Allah by doing good actions, like praying, giving charity, or even having good thoughts in our heart.

Both types of du’a bring us closer to Allah and show our love and trust in Him.

Q: What Does Seeking Nearness to Allah Mean?

A: Seeking nearness to Allah means doing things that bring us closer to Him. These can include:

  1. Worship and Obedience: Praying, following His commands, and doing good deeds.
  2. Asking Allah: Making du’a to seek His help, protection, and blessings.

Q: Du’a in the Qur’an:

A: In the Qur’an, du’a has two meanings:

  1. Du’a as Worship: Acts of worship that show love and obedience to Allah.
  2. Du’a as Asking: Calling on Allah to ask for help or protection.

Both forms of du’a help us connect with Allah and receive His blessings.

Q: What Are Duas?

A: Duas are special prayers or supplications where we talk to Allah and ask Him for help, guidance, and protection. They are a way to connect with Allah and show our trust in Him.

Q: Why Are Duas Important?

  • Protection: Duas keep us safe from harm and evil.
  • Blessings: They bring Allah’s mercy and blessings into our lives.
  • Connection: Duas remind us that Allah is always listening and ready to help us.

How to Teach Kids?

  • Start with short and easy duas, like saying “Bismillah” before eating or “Alhamdulillah” after finishing.
