✿ The principles of ‘aqeedah are those which Allaah has commanded us to believe in, as mentioned in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
“The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allaah, His Angels, His Books and His Messengers. They say, ‘We make no distinction between one and another of His Messengers’ – and they say, ‘We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all).”
[al-Baqarah 2:285]
❁ The Hadith of Jibreel is a simple story about how an angel named Jibreel (Gabriel) came to teach everyone important things about Islam.
- Islam – Jibreel asked the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) what Islam is, and he answered that Islam means doing things like praying, fasting in Ramadan, giving charity, and going to Hajj.
- Faith (Imaan) – Then Jibreel asked about faith, and the Prophet said faith means believing in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and that Allah has a plan for everything.
- Excellence (Ihsaan) – Jibreel also asked about doing things with excellence, and the Prophet said it means worshiping Allah as if you can see Him, even though you can’t.
- The Last Day – Lastly, Jibreel asked about the signs of the end times, and the Prophet mentioned that some big events would happen when it’s near.
