01. Story of Prophet Adam and Hawa (AS)

Story of Prophet Adam and Hawa (AS)

A long time ago, before there were people on Earth, Allah decided to create the first human being. He made Adam (AS) from clay and breathed life into him. Adam (AS) was very special because Allah taught him the names of everything! This made him very wise.

The Angels and Iblees

Allah told the angels and Iblees (a jinn) to bow to Adam (AS) as a sign of respect, not worship. The angels obeyed, but Iblees refused because he was proud. He thought he was better than Adam (AS) because he was made of fire, not clay. Allah did not like Iblees’ arrogance and disobedience, so He punished him and sent him away.

A Beautiful Garden

Allah placed Adam (AS) in a beautiful garden called Jannah. There, Adam (AS) was never hungry, thirsty, or sad. To keep him company, Allah created Hawa (AS) from Adam (AS). They were happy and lived peacefully.

The Forbidden Tree

Allah told Adam (AS) and Hawa (AS) they could enjoy everything in the garden except for one special tree. He warned them not to eat its fruit. But Iblees, who was angry at Adam (AS), tricked them. He whispered, “If you eat from this tree, you will become like angels!”

Adam (AS) and Hawa (AS) listened to Iblees and ate the fruit. As soon as they did, they felt ashamed and realized they had made a big mistake. They asked Allah for forgiveness by saying:

قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ ٢٣

They replied, “Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will certainly be losers.”

[Surah Araf:07: 23]

Allah forgave them because He is the Most Merciful, but He sent them to Earth to live and learn from their mistake.

Life on Earth

On Earth, Adam (AS) and Hawa (AS) started a new life. Allah taught Adam (AS) how to farm and provide for his family. They had children and became the first family. Allah reminded them and their descendants to always worship Him, stay away from Iblees’ tricks, and follow the right path.

✦ Lesson for Kids:

  1. Always listen to Allah and follow His rules.

  2. If you make a mistake, ask for forgiveness. Allah loves those who repent.

  3. Never be proud or disobedient like Iblees.
