23. Story of Prophet Dawood (AS)

Story of Prophet Dawood (AS)

A long time ago, Allah chose Dawood (AS) as a prophet and a king. He was a brave man, a wise ruler, and a worshiper of Allah. Allah blessed him with many special gifts, including a beautiful voice and the ability to shape iron with his hands.

Young Dawood (AS) and Jalut (Goliath)

Before Dawood (AS) became a prophet, he was a young shepherd. During his time, there was a powerful and cruel man named Jalut (Goliath). Jalut was a giant who led an army that terrorized the people. Everyone was afraid of him.

One day, when Jalut’s army challenged the people to fight, young Dawood (AS) volunteered. Though he was small and had no armor, Dawood (AS) trusted Allah completely. He took his sling and a few small stones.

When the battle began, Dawood (AS) faced Jalut with courage. He swung his sling and, with Allah’s help, one stone hit Jalut’s head, killing him instantly. The people cheered, and Dawood (AS) became a hero.

Dawood (AS) as a King

Later, Allah made Dawood (AS) the king of his people. He was a fair and just ruler, always treating everyone with kindness and ensuring justice. Allah also revealed the Zaboor (Psalms) to Dawood (AS), a book filled with wisdom and guidance.

Dawood’s Gifts from Allah

Allah gave Dawood (AS) a beautiful voice that made people and even animals stop to listen. When he recited the praises of Allah, the mountains and birds joined him in glorifying Allah.

Dawood (AS) was also blessed with the ability to shape iron easily. He used this gift to make tools, weapons, and armor, which helped his people.

The Story of the Two Men

One day, two men came to Prophet Dawood (AS) to resolve a dispute. One man said, “This man has 99 sheep, but he wants to take my only sheep!” Dawood (AS) listened carefully and said, “It is wrong to take what is not yours.”

After judging between the men, Dawood (AS) realized Allah was teaching him to think carefully and avoid rushing to decisions. He prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and became even more mindful in his judgments.
