51. AURAT GHAR MEIN TARAVEEH KAISAY ADA KEREY GI [HOW CAN A WOMEN PRAY TARAWEEH IN HER HOUSE]
AURAT GHAR MEIN TARAVEEH KAISE ADA KAREGI?
Awwal :
Namaz farz ho ya nafil, aurat ka ghar mein namaz ada karna masjid mein namaz ada karne se afzal hai, aur isi hukm mein taraveeh ki namaz bhi shaamil hai .
Daimi fatwa committee ke ulmaye karaam kahte hain :
” Aurat ki ghar mein namaz masjid mein namaz ada karne se behtar hai, farz ho ya nafil ya taraveeh koi bhi namaz ho” Antahii fatawa lil jannah tul daiymah” – pahla addition “(201/7)
Duam :
Aurat ko jitna Qur’an e Majeed yaad ho itna hi parh kar Taraveeh apne ghar mein ada kare aur iske liye sunnat tariqe ka ehtmaam hasbe isteta’at kare, chunancha agar mukammal Qur’an e Majeed yaad hai aur woh namaz lambi bhi kar sakti hai to phir woh gyarah ya terah rakat namaz ada kare, har do rakat ke baad salam phere aur aakhir mein witr parhe. aur agar qiyam lamba na kar sakti ho to hasbe toufeeq rakat parhe aur jab yeh samjhe ke mujh mein itni hi isteta’t hai to phir ek rakat witr ada kar le .
Daimi fatwa committee ke ulmaye karaam kahte hain :
” Taraveeh ki namaz gyarah ya terah rakat hai, is ke liye sunnat e Nabwi yeh hai ke har do rakat ke baad salam phere aur aakhir mein ek witr ada kar le, agar koi 20 ya is se bhi ziyada ada karta hai to is mein koi harj nahi hai ؛ kyunke Nabi(ﷺ) ka farman hai : ( raat ki namaz do, do rakat hai, chunancha jab tumhen tulu e Fajar hone ka khadsha ho to ek rakat parh lo is se guzishta saari namaz ki tadaad witr ho jayegi ) mutfiq alaihi.
Is hadees mein Nabi(ﷺ) ne raat ki namaz ke liye rakaat muqarrar nahi farmaen” Antahii fatawa lil jannah ul diymah” pehla addition” (7 / 198)
Suam:
Aurat ke liye ghar mein Taraveeh parhne ke liye Haafza e Qur’an hona zaroori nahi hai, balkeh aurat chahe mukammal Qur’an ki Hafiza ho ya munasib miqdaar mein Qur’an e Majeed ke paare yaad hon woh ghar mein Taraveeh ki namaz ada kar sakti hai .
Aur agar koi shakhs mard ho ya aurat usay ghar mein namaz parhne ke liye quwat e hafza saath nahi deta to woh Qur’an e Majeed se dekh kar bhi parh sakta hai .
Sheikh Ibn Baaz (رحمہ اللہ علیہ) kahte hain :
” Agar imam hone ki surat mein zarurat mahsoos ho to Qur’an e Majeed se dekh kar bhi parh sakta hai, isi tarha aurat bhi dekh kar Qur’an e Majeed ki tilawat kar sakti hai, is mein koi harj nahi hai” Antahii Fatawa Nur eala aldarb” ( 8 / 246 )
Agar ghar mein khawateen ki kaafi tadaad ho to unke saath ba jamat Taraveeh ada karne mein bhi koi harj nahi hai, imamat karwane wali khatoon aurton ke darmiyan mein khari ho kar Qur’an ki tilawat karegi, aur agar Qur’an e Majeed se dekh kar tilawat kare to is mein bhi koi harj nahi hai.
Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen (رحمہ اللہ علیہ) kahte hain :
” Behtar to yahi hai ke aurat apne ghar mein hi namaz parhe, chahe namaz e Taraveeh ke liye qareeb masjid mein intezam bhi ho, chunancha agar aurat ghar mein ba jamaat namaz Taraveeh ada kar leti hai to is mein bhi koi harj nahi hai, is surat mein agar aurat ko Qur’an e Majeed ka thora hissa hi yaad ho to usay Qur’an e Majeed se dekh kar tilawat karne ki ijazat hai.” Antahii Fatawa Nur eala aldarb” az Ibn Uthaymeen.
Chaharum :
Masjid mein mardon ki jamaat ke saath aurat ke liye Taraveeh ya deegar namazen parhne mein koi harj nahi, balkeh agar lambe qiyam wali namazon mein aurat ka masjid mein namaz ba jama’t ada karna zyada josh aur jazbe ka ba’is ho to yeh acha amal hai, Agarche aurat ka ghar mein namaz ada karna chahe namaz farz ho ya nafil masjid mein namaz ada karne se usooli taur par behtrin amal hai .
chunancha is baray mein Sheikh Ibn baaz (رحمہ اللہ علیہ) se poocha gaya :
Aurat ke liye masjid mein namaz e Taraveeh ki adaigi ka kya hukm hai? “
Unhon ne jawab diya :
” Usooli taur par aurat ki ghar mein namaz afzal aur behtar hai, lekin masjid mein baparda haalat mein ba jama’t namaz ada karne se zyada faida hoga kyunke is se dil mein namazen parhne ka shauq paida hota hai ya usay Ilmi duroos sun’ne ka mauqa milta hai to Alhamdulillah is mein koi harj nahi hai, aur woh is etebaar se bhi behtar hai ke is mein azeem fawaid hain aur neki ki targeeb paida hoti hai” Antahii
makhoz az Website :
http://www.binbaz.org.sa/mat/15477
Isi tarah un se yeh bhi poocha gaya :
“Aurat ke liye masjid mein namaz Taraveeh parhna jayez hai? “
To unhon ne jawab diya :
“Agar aurat ko ghar mein Taraveeh parhne par susti ka khadsha ho to uske liye masjid mein namaz ada karna mustahib hai, agar susti ka khadsha nah ho to phir ghar mein afzal hai, taaham agar phir bhi masjid mein namaz ada karne ki zarurat mehsoos ho to is mein koi harj nahi hai, khawateen Nabi (ﷺ) ke saath panchon namazen ba jama’t ada kiya karti theen, taaham aap (ﷺ) un se kaha karte the : ( khawateen ke liye unke ghar behtar hain )
lekin kuch khawateen apne ghar mein susti ka shikaar ho jati hain, kahili mein parh jati hain, to agar woh masjid mein ba pardah ho kar be pardagi se bachte huwe namaz parhne aur ehl e ilm ki deeni guftgu sun’ne ke liye jaen to unhen is ka ajar bhi milega, kyunke un ka maqsad acha hai” Antahi fatawa nur ealaa aldarb”
” ( 9 / 489 )
Isi tarah Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen (رحمہ اللہ علیہ) kahte hain :
” Aurat ki ghar mein namaz e Taraveeh behtar aur afzal hai, lekin agar aurat ki masjid mein namaz zyada Khushu’ Khuzu’ aur jismani chusti ka baa’is ho, aur usay khadsha ho ke agar woh ghar mein namaz ada karegi to uski namaz zaya ho jayegi to phir aisi surat mein masjid mein jana afzal hoga” Antahii Alliqa alshahri makhoz az :”
Mazeed fayde ke liye aap sawal number : ( 3457 ) aur ( 65562 ) ka jawab bhi mulahiza farmaen .

How Should Women Pray Tarawih at Home?
Question
What are the procedures for praying Tarawih at home? Is it required for a woman to have memorized the Book of Allah in order to pray Tarawih on her own? Or is it sufficient for her to recite that which she has memorized?
Summary of answer
A woman may pray Tarawih at home according to whatever she is able to do, paying attention to the Sunnah as much as possible. For more, please see the detailed answer.
Answer
Praise be to Allah.
Women’s prayer: At home or at the mosque?
It is better for a woman to pray in her house than in the mosque, whether that is an obligatory or supererogatory (nafilah) prayer, including Tarawih prayer .
The scholars of the Standing Committee said:
“A woman’s praying in her house is better for her than her praying in the mosque, whether it is an obligatory or supererogatory prayer, Tarawih or otherwise.” (Fatawa al-Lajnah ad-Daimah – vol. 1, 7/201)
How can women pray tarawih at home?
A woman may pray Tarawih at home according to whatever she is able to do, paying attention to the Sunnah as much as possible. If she has memorized the entire Book of Allah and she is able to make the prayer lengthy , then she may pray eleven rak‘ahs, or thirteen, praying two by two, then praying Witr at the end.
If she cannot make her prayer lengthy, then she should pray two by two, whatever Allah has decreed that she should pray, then when she thinks that she has done as much as she is able to, she should pray Witr at the end, with one rak‘ah.
The scholars of the Standing Committee said:
“Tarawih prayer is eleven or thirteen rak‘ahs, saying the taslim after each two rak‘ahs, and praying Witr at the end (with one rak‘ah) is preferable, following the example of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). But if anyone prays with twenty or more rak‘ahs, there is nothing wrong with that, because the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The night prayers are two (rak‘ahs) by two, then if one of you fears that dawn is about to break, he should pray one rak‘ah, so as to make what he has prayed odd-numbered.” Agreed upon. So he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) did not specify a particular number of rak‘ahs.” (Fatawa al-Lajnah ad-Daimah, vol. 1, 7/198)
Do women have to memorize the Quran to pray tarawih at home?
A woman does not have to have memorized the Quran in order to pray Tarawih in her house; rather if she has memorized it, or a goodly amount of it, she may pray with whatever she has memorized of the Quran.
If she was not able to memorize enough to help her pray at home, there is no blame on her, or on any man, if they pray reading from the Mus-haf (printed copy of the Quran).
Shaykh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“If there is a need to read from the Mus-haf, for one who is an imam leading the prayers, or a woman who is praying Tahajjud at night, or a man who has not memorized the Quran, there is nothing wrong with that.” (Fatawa Nur ‘ala ad-Darb, 8/246)
Can a woman lead other women in tarawih prayer?
If there are a number of women in the house, there is nothing wrong with her leading them in praying in congregation. She should stand in the middle of the row, and recite whatever she is able to, and if she reads from the Mus-haf there is nothing wrong with that.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“It is better for a woman to pray in her house, even if there is a mosque in which Tarawih prayers are held, and if she prays in her house, there is nothing wrong with her leading other women in the house in prayer. In this case, if she has only memorized a little of the Quran, she may read from the Mus-haf .” (Fatawa Nur ‘ala ad-Darb by Ibn ‘Uthaymin)
Can women pray tarawih at the mosque?
There is nothing wrong with a woman praying Tarawih or other prayers in the mosque, with the congregation of men, especially if that will be more effective in encouraging her to offer a lengthy prayer, and will help her to do that regularly, even if offering prayers – both obligatory and supererogatory – at home is better for her – in principle – than her offering prayers in the mosque.
Shaykh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked:
What is the Islamic ruling on a woman praying Tarawih in the mosque?
He replied:
“The basic principle with regard to a woman’s prayer is that her home is preferable and better for her, but if she thinks that there is an interest to be served by praying in the mosque, so long as she covers herself properly, because that is more motivating for her, or because she can benefit from listening to lessons, then there is nothing wrong with that, praise be to Allah. It is also good because of what it involves of great benefits and encouraging people to do righteous deeds.” (From the Shaykh’s website )
He was also asked:
Is it permissible for a woman to pray Tarawih in the mosque with the men?
He (may Allah have mercy on him) replied:
“Yes, it is mustahabb for her to do that if she fears that she will be lazy at home, otherwise her house is better. But if there is a need for that, there is nothing wrong with it. The women used to offer the five daily prayers with the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), although he said: “Their houses are better for them.”
But some women may feel lazy or unmotivated at home. So if she goes out to the mosque, fully covered and observing the hijab, and avoiding any wanton display, with the aim of praying and listening to people of knowledge, then she will be rewarded for that, because this is a righteous aim.” (Fatawa Nur ‘ala ad-Darb, 9/489)
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin said:
“It is better for her to pray Tarawih at home, but if praying in the mosque is more motivating for her and helps her to focus better, and if she prays at home she fears that she may neglect her prayer, then in this case the mosque may be better.” (Al-Liqa ash-Shahri)
