20. HAZRAT UZAIR ( علیہ السلام ) [Prophet Ezra]
Hazrat Uzair
Naam-o-Nasab Aur Ap Ka Tazkirah
Hafiz Ibn-e-Asaakir رحمہ اللہ ne farmaya: Ap ka nam Uzair Bin-e-Haiwah hai. Aur Ap ka nasab nama is tarah bayan kiya hai: Uzair Bin Soreeq Bin Arna Bin Ayyoub Bin Durasna Bin Uri Bin Taqi Bin Al-Saboo Bin Finhaas Bin Al-Ya’azar Bin Haroon Bin Imran. Aik riwaaya ke mutabiq Ap ke walid ka nam Sarookha tha. Ap ki qabar mubarak Damishaq mein hai.
Hazrat Abdullah Bin Salam رضی اللہ عنہ ka qoal hai ke jis shakhas ko Allah T’aala ne so saal ke ba’ad dobara zinda kiya tha, woh Uzair علیہ ا السلام hi thay.
Hazrat Wahab Bin Manabbah رحمہ اللہ se riwaayat hai keh Uzair علیہ السلام aik dana aur muttaqi aadmi thay. Piyale mein angooron ko nichod kar ras nikal liya. Pair Ap ke pas jo khushak roti thi woh le kar ras mein daal di takeh woh naram ho jaye to kha lein. Phir Ap deewar se paon laga kar chit lait gaye. Ap ki nazar chat par padi. Dekha keh chat to qaaim hai lkin us ke niche zindagi guzarne walon ki siraf boseeda hadiyan mojood hein. Tab farmaya: { اَنّٰى يُـحْيٖ ھٰذِهِ اللّٰهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا } ” Is ki moat ke ba’ad Allah T’aala isay kis tarah zinda kare ga?” (Al-Baqarah:2/259)
Yeh shak ke tor par nahin balkeh ta’ajjub ke tor par farmaya. Allah T’aala ne moat ka farishta bheja. Us ne Ap ki rooh qabaz kar li aur Ap so saal tak foatshuda haalat mein rahe. Is aik sadi ki muddat mein Bani Isra’eel ko tarah tarah ke waaqiaat paish aaye. Jsb so saal guzar gaye to Allah T’aala ne Hazrat Uzair علیہ السلام ki taraf aik farishta bheja. Us ne Ap ka dil paida kiya takeh Ap samajh sakein aur phir ankhein paida kien takeh Ap dekh kar samajh sakein keh Allah T’aala kis tarah murdon ko zinda kare ga. Phir Ap ke dekhte dekhte Ap ka jisam mubarak mukamal kiya gaya. Hadiyon par goshat posat aur bal ban gay, Phr jisam mein rooh dali gai aur Ap yeh sab kuch dekh aur samajh rahe thay. Jab Ap uth kar baith gay to farishte ne Ap se kaha: { كَمْ لَبِثْتَؕ }
“Ap kitna arsa yahan rahe?”
Ap علیہ السلام ne farmaya: { لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا اَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍؕ } “Aik din thehra hoon ya is se bhi kam.” Kiyoun keh dopehar se pehle yahan ruke thay aur jab uthe to sham ka waqat tha. Abhi sooraj gharoob nahin huwa tha. Farishte ne kaha: { لَّبِثْتَ مِائَةَ عَامٍ فَانْظُرْ اِلٰى طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ } “Ap yahan aik so saal rahe hein. Apne khane pine ko dekhiye.”Ya’ani woh khushak roti aur angoor ka ras. Dekha to woh donon cheezen usi tarah thie. Ras kharab nahin huwa, Roti abhi tak khushak thi, Naram nahin hui. Isi liye farmaya: { لَمْ يَتَسَـنَّهْۚ } “Bilkul kharab nahin huwa.” Ya’ani us mein koi tbdeeli nahin aai. Injeer aur Angoor bhi taza haalat mein thay. Ap ke dil mein khayal aaya keh yeh kaise ho sakta hai to farishte ne kaha: { وَانْظُرْ اِلٰى حِمَارِكَ} “Apne gadhe ki taraf dekhiye!” Dekha to us ki siraf boseeda hadiyan padi thien. Ham tujhe logon ke liye aik nishani banate hein aur tu dekh! Ham hadiyon ko kis tarah jodte hein? Aur un par goshat chadhate hein?” Ya’ani gadhe ki hadiyon ko dekh kis tarah aik doosari ke sath judti chali ja rahi hein. Jab poora dhancha ban gaya to farmaya ab dekh Ham is par kis tarah goshat chadhate hein. Jab yeh sab zahir ho chuka to Ap kehne lage: { اَعْلَمُ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ } ” Mein janta hon keh Allah T’aala har cheez par Qadir hai.” (Al-Baqarah: 2/259)
Chalte huaye kisi aur taraf nikal gaye. Aakhir apne ghar pohanche to dekha wahan aik andhi apahij budhiya bethi hui hai jis ki umar aak so bees saal ho chuki thi. Ap ne us ko pehchan liya. Us ne kaha: “Han! Uzair ka ghar yahi hai.” Yeh keh kar woh ro padi. Log unhein bhool gaye.” Ap ne farmaya: “Mein hi Uzair hon. Allah ne mujhe so saal murda haalat mein rakhne ke ba’ad dobara zindagi de di hai.” Us ne kaha: “سبحان الله! Uzair علیہ السلام to so saal se la pata hein. Hamein un ka koi suragh nahin mila. Ap ne farmaya: ” Mein hi Uzair علیہ السلام hoon.”
Woh boli: Uzair to Mustajaab-ul-Da’awaat thay. Un ki dua se bimaron ko shifa ho jati thi, Lihaza Ap dua farmaein keh Allah mujhe ankhein de de takeh mein Ap ki ziyaarat kar sakon. Agar Ap waqai Uzair علیہ السلام hein to Mein Ap ko pehchan lon gi.” Ap ne dua kar ke us ki ankhon par hath phera to us ki ankhen roshan ho gaien. Ap ne us ka hath pakad kar farmaya:
“Allah ke hukam se uth kar khadi ho!” Allah ne us ki tangen durust kar dien aur woh uth khadi hui. Us ne Ap ke chehra mubarak par nazar dali aur boli. ” Mein gawahi deti hon keh Ap Uzair hi hein.”
Majlis mein Uzair ka aik beta mojood tha jo aik so athara saal ka boodha tha. Ap ke pote jo majlis mein mojood thay, Woh bhi sab boodhe thay. Us ne unhein pukar kar kaha: “Yeh dekho! Uzair علیہ السلام tashreef le aaye hein.” Unhein yaqeen na aaya. Us ne kaha: “Mein tumhari falan londi hon. Uzair علیہ السلام ki dua se mujhe basaarat mil gai hai aur mein chalne phirne ke qabil ho gai hon. Woh farmate hein keh Allah ne unhein so saal ke ba’ad zinda kar diya hai.”
Log uth kar Ap ke pas aye aur dekhne lage. Ap ke bete ne kaha: “Abba jan ke kandhon ke darmiyan aik til tha.” Ap ne kandhon se kapda hataya to woh alaamat mojood thi. Logon ne kaha: “Hamari qoam mein Uzair علیہ السلام ke siwa kisi ko Taurat zubani yad nahin thi. Tahreeri nuskha Bakhat-e-Nasar ne Nazar-e-Aatish kar diya. Ab kisi kisi aadmi ko Taurat ke thode thode ajza’a yad hein. Ap hamein dobara Taurat likh den.
Hazrat Uzair علیہ السلام ke walid ne Bhakt-e-Nasar ke zamane mein Taurat aik mahfooz maqam par chupai thi jis ka ilm Uzair علیہ السلام ke siwa kisi ko na tha. Ap logon ko wahan le gaye aur woh nuskha nikalwaya. Us ke waraq boseeda ho gay thay aur alfaaz mit gaye thay.
Ap aik darakhat ke niche baith gaye. Bani Isra’il Ap ke irad girad jama ho gaye. Aasman se do shihaab aaye aur Ap ke pait mein dakhil ho gaye. (Tareekh-e-Damishaq Libn-e-Asaakir: 42/260-262)
Hazrat Ibn-e-Abbas farmate hein keh Allah T’aala ke farman: { وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ اٰيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ } ” Takeh Ham tujhe lgon ke liye nishani banaein.” mein “logon” se murad hai “Bani Isra’il”. Kiyoun keh jab Ap apne beton ke sath baithe hote thay, Ap to jawan hote thay, Ap ke bete boodhe. Is ki wajah yeh hai keh jab Ap foat ho gay thay to Ap ki umar chalees saal thi. Phir jab Ap ko Allah T’aala ne dobara zinda kiya to Ap ki haalat wahi jawani wali thi. Farmate hein keh Ap Bakhat-e-Nasar ke zamne ke ba’ad zinda huaye.” (Tareekh-e-Damishaq Libn-e-Asaakir: 42/262.)
Hazrat Uzair Ka Zamana-e-Nubuwwat
Mash’hoor qoal ke mutabiq Uzair علیہ السلام Bani Isra’il ke Nabi thay. Aur Ap ka zamna Hazrat Dawood-o-Suleman علیہما السلام aur Zakriya-o-Yahya علیہما السلام ke darmiyan ka hai.
Hazrat Abdullah Bin Salam رضی اللہ عنہ ne Ap ka Taurat zubani likhne ka waqia bayan kiya aur farmaya: “Bani Isra’il kehte thay. Hazrat Moosa علیہ السلام to hamare pas bagher likhe kitab (Taurat) na la saka, Uzair علیہ السلام bagher tahreer ke Taurat le aaye. Is liye ba’az logon ne unhein “Allah ka beta” keh diya” (Tareekh-e-Damishaq Libn-e-Asaakir: 42/263.) Isi liye ba’az ulama’a ne farmaya keh Taurat ka tawatar Uzair علیہ السلام ke zamane mein munqata ho gaya tha jise Ap ne bahal kiya.
Hazrat Uzair ke zamane ke bare mein mukhtalif aqwaal warid huaye hein jin ka khulasa Hasab-e-Zail hai. Hazrat Hasan رحمہ اللہ ka qoal hai keh Hazrat Uzair علیہ السلام aur Bakhat-e-Nasar aik hi daur mein thay. Jab keh Sahih Bukhari mein Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ka irshad hai: “Ibn-e-Maryam ke sath sab se qareebi talluq mera hai. Anbiya-e-Kiraam aik bap ki aulad hein. Mere aur un ( Isa ) ke darmiyan koi Nabi nahin.”

Prophet Uzair (Ezra)
Ezra Sleeps For 100 Years
Ishaaq Ibn Bishr reported, on the authority of Ibn Abbas and others, that Ezra was a saint and a wise man. He went out one day to his own farm, as was his custom. About noon he came to a deserted, ruined place and felt the heat. He entered the ruined town and dismounted his donkey, taking figs and grapes in his basket. He went under the shade of the khaiba tree and ate his food. Then he got up to look at what remained of the ruins. The people had long been lost, and he saw bones.
“Oh! How will Allah ever bring it to life after its death?” (Ch 2:259 Quran)
He said this not out of doubt but out of curiosity. Allah sent the Angel of Death to take his life. He remained dead for one hundred years.
After one hundred years had passed and there had been changes in Israelite affairs, Allah sent an angel upon Ezra to revive his heart and his eyes in order for him to feel and see how Allah revives the dead. The angel said: “For how long did you sleep?” He said: “A day or part of a day.” He said this because he knew he had slept early in the afternoon and woke up late in the afternoon. The angel said: “You remained asleep for one hundred years.” He ate and drank the food which he had prepared before he was overtaken by that long sleep. Then the angel revived his donkey.
Almighty Allah said:
“And look at your donkey! Thus We have made of you a sign for the people. Look at the bones, how We bring them together and clothe them with flesh.” When this was clearly shown to him he said: “I know now that Allah is able to do all things.” (Ch 2:259)
Ezra Returns Home
He rode on his donkey and entered his native place, but the people did not recognize him, nor did his household, except the maid, now an old woman. He asked her: “Is this the house of Ezra?” She said: “Yes, but the people have long forgotten Ezra.” He said: “I am Ezra, Allah had taken my life for a one hundred years and has now returned it to me.” She said: “Ezra used to be answered when he prayed to Allah. Pray to cure me of blindness if you are Ezra.” He prayed for her and massaged her eyes and took her by the hand. “Get up by the power of Allah,” he said. The crippled woman stood up and walked, she opened her eyes and saw; her blindness was gone. She said: “I bear witness that you are Ezra.”
Ezra Finds and Copies the Torah
She rushed to the assembly of the Israelites. Ezra’s son was one hundred eighteen years old, and his children’s children now were lords of the assembly. She called out to them saying: “This is Ezra come to you.” They accused her of lying. She said: “I am your old maid. He has just prayed to Allah for me, and here I am whole again, walking and seeing.” The people stood up and looked at him. His son said: “My father had a mark between his shoulders, a black mole,” and they discovered it. They said: “None among us memorized the Torah since Nabuchadnezzar burned it, except Ezra; and there was only one copy of the Torah, which was hidden by Sarukha. He buried it in the days of Nabuchadnezzar in a place none but Ezra knows.” Ezra led the people to the hidden place and took out that copy of the Torah. Its leaves had rotted, and the book itself crumpled.
Ezra sat under the shade of a tree surrounded by the children of Israel and copied out the Torah for them from that script. Henceforth, the Jews said that Ezra is the son of Allah, for two evidences which came down from Heaven and for his copying the torah and for his fighting the cause of the Israelites. He had been copying the Torah for Ezekial in the land of darkness in the hermitage of Ezekiel. The village which was in ruins is said to be Sayrabadh. Ibn Abbas commanded: “So it is as Allah said:
“We have made of you a sign for the people.” (Ch 2:259)
That is, for the Israelites, in that he was sitting among his children, the old men, and he a youth. He died as a forty year old, and Allah resurrected him at the same age on the day of his death.”
