Kiya khawateen kay liye aissi cosmetics ashiyya say makeup karna jayez hai, jin mein haiwani mahloolaat ya alcohol shaamil na ho?

Alhamdulillah.
Sheikh Mohammad Bin Saaleh Uthaymeen (رحمہ اللہ) kehtay hain:
Shara’ee dairey mein rehtey huye biwi apney khaawind kay liye bana’o singhar kar sakti hai;
kiyon ke biwi agar apney khaawind kay liye bana’o singhar karey to yeh mohabbat o ulfat aur ham aahangi ka ba’es hai, aur shariyat ka bhi yeh maqsad hai, chunaancheh agar MakeUp karney say khoobsurati mein izaafa ho, aur kisi qisam kay nuqsan ka andaisha na ho to uss mein koi harj nahi.
Lekin main ne suna hai ke MakeUp ki wajah say chehray ki jild ko nuqsan pohonchata hai, jis ki wajah say waqt say pehlay hi budhaapay kay aasaar nazar ana shuroo ho jaatey hain, iss liye meri khawateen say guzarish hai ke iss baarey mein tibbi mahereen say zuroor rujoo karein, aur agar yeh baat durust hai to aisey MakeUp ka istemal haram ho ga, yaa kam az kam makrooh zuroor ho ga, kiyon ke har aisi cheez jo badsoorti ya bigaadh ka ba’es ho woh ya to haram hai, yaa kam az kam makrooh hai.
Issi munaasibat say main yeh bhi zikar karna chahon ga ke nail polish khawateen istemal karti hain jiss say nakhun par aik teh si jam jati hai, to yeh namaz padhney wali khawateen kay liye jayez nahi hai; kiyon ke nail polish wudu kay dauran nakhun tak paani nahi pohonchney deti , aur har aisi cheez jo pani ko nakhun tak na pohonchney de iss ka istemal wudu ya shara’ee ghusl karney waley kay liye jayez nahi hai, iss liye ke Allah Ta’ala ka farmaan hai:
{“Faighsiloo wujoohakum waaydiyakum”}
“Tum apney chehron aur haathon ko dho lo”
[Al Maaida :06]
Aur jis khatoon ne apney nakhun par nail polish lagaee huee hai, nail polish ki wajah say uss kay nakhunun tak pani nahi pohonch pae ga, iss liye uss khatoon kay barey mein yeh baat kahi ja sakti hai ke uss nay apnay [mukammil] haath dho liye hain, aur iss tarah say khatoon wudu ya ghusl ka aik farz tark karney ki murtakib thehrey gi.
Albatta agar aurat aissay dinon mein hai ke uss ne namaz nahi padhni to aissi soorat mein nail polish istemal karney mein koi harj nahi hai, haan agar nail polish lagana kafir khawateen ka makhsoos amal hai, to phir yeh bilkul bhi jayez nahi ho ga, kiyon ke uss mein kafir khawateen ki mushaabehat paayi jae gi.”

Is it permitted for women to wear make up even if they do not contain any animal derived or alcohol ingredients?

Shaykh Muhammad al-Saalih ibn ‘Uthaymeen said:
Making herself beautiful for her husband is one of the things that a woman should do. The more beautiful a woman looks for her husband, the more that will make him love her and that will create harmony between them. This is one of the objectives of sharee’ah, so if the makeup makes her look more beautiful and does not harm her, there is nothing wrong with that.
But I have heard that make-up can damage the skin of the face and change it in ways that make it look ugly and age the skin prematurely. I hope that women will ask their doctors about that, and if it is proven, then using make-up will be deemed to be either haraam or makrooh at the very least, because everything that causes deformity or makes a person ugly is either haraam or makrooh.
I would like to use this opportunity to discuss nail polish, which forms a layer on the nails. It is not permissible to use this if a woman is praying, because it prevents the water from reaching the nails when doing wudoo’ or ghusl, and it is not permissible to use anything that will prevent water from reaching the skin or nails when doing wudoo’ or ghusl. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows…”
[al-Maa’idah 5:6]
So if a woman is wearing nail-polish which prevents water from reaching her nails, then she is not really washing her hands, which means that she has omitted one of the obligatory parts of wudoo’ and ghusl. But if she is not praying, there is nothing wrong with her using it, unless this action is one of the unique characteristics of kaafir woman, in which case it is not permissible because it involves imitating them.

کیا خواتین کیلئے ایسی کاسمیٹکس اشیاء سے میک اپ کرنا جائز ہے، جن میں حیوانی محلولات یا الکحل شامل نہ ہو؟

الحمد للہ.
شیخ محمد بن صالح عثیمین رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں:
“شرعی دائرے میں رہتے ہوئے بیوی اپنے خاوند کیلئے بناؤ سنگھار کر سکتی ہے؛ کیونکہ بیوی اگر اپنے خاوند کیلئے بناؤ سنگھار کرے تو یہ محبت و الفت اور ہم آہنگی کا باعث ہے، اور شریعت کا بھی یہ مقصد ہے، چنانچہ اگر میک اپ کرنے سے خوبصورتی میں اضافہ ہو، اور کسی قسم کے نقصان کا اندیشہ نہ ہو تو اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں۔
لیکن میں نے سنا ہے کہ میک اپ کی وجہ سے چہرے کی جلد کو نقصان پہنچتا ہے، جس کی وجہ سے وقت سے پہلے ہی بڑھاپے کے آثار نظر آنا شروع ہو جاتے ہیں، اس لئے میری خواتین سے گزارش ہے کہ اس بارے میں طبی ماہرین سے ضرور رجوع کریں، اوراگر یہ بات درست ہےتوایسے میک اپ کا استعمال حرام ہوگا، یا کم از کم مکروہ ضرور ہوگا، کیونکہ ہر ایسی چیز جو بد صورتی اور یا بگاڑ کا باعث ہو وہ یا تو حرام ہے، یا کم از کم مکروہ ہے۔
اسی مناسبت سے میں یہ بھی ذکر کرنا چاہوں گا کہ نیل پالش خواتین استعمال کرتی ہیں جس سے ناخن پر ایک تہہ سی جم جاتی ہے، تو یہ نماز پڑھنے والی خواتین کیلئے جائز نہیں ہے؛ کیونکہ نیل پالش وضو کے دوران ناخن تک پانی نہیں پہنچنے دیتی، اور ہر ایسی چیز جو پانی کو ناخن تک نہ پہنچنے دے اسکا استعمال وضو یا شرعی غسل کرنے والے کیلئے جائز نہیں ہے، اس لئے کہ اللہ تعالی کا فرمان ہے: فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ تم اپنے چہروں اور ہاتھوں کو دھو لو[المائدة : 6]، اور جس خاتون نے اپنے ناخن پر نیل پالش لگائی ہوئی ہے ، نیل پالش کی وجہ سے اس کے ناخنوں تک پانی نہیں پہنچ پائے گا، اس لئے اس خاتون کے بارے میں یہ بات نہیں کہی جاسکتی کہ اس نے اپنے [مکمل]ہاتھ دھو لیے ہیں، اور اس طرح سے خاتون وضو یا غسل کا ایک فرض ترک کرنے کی مرتکب ٹھہرے گی۔
البتہ اگر عورت ایسے دنوں میں ہے کہ اس نے نماز نہیں پڑھنی تو ایسی صورت میں نیل پالش استعمال کرنے میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے، ہاں اگر نیل پالش لگانا کافر خواتین کا مخصوص عمل ہے، تو پھر یہ بالکل بھی جائز نہیں ہوگا، کیونکہ اس میں کافر خواتین کی مشابہت پائی جائے گی”
