03. Story of Prophet Nuh (AS)
Story of Prophet Nuh (AS)
A long time ago, there was a man named Nuh (AS). Allah chose him to be a prophet and guide his people to the right path. At that time, people had forgotten about Allah and started worshiping idols.
Nuh (AS) Warns His People
Prophet Nuh (AS) loved his people and wanted to save them from their wrong ways. He told them, “Worship only Allah, who created you and everything around you. Stop worshiping idols that cannot help you!”
But most people refused to listen. They laughed at him and said, “Why should we follow you? You are just an ordinary man!”
Nuh (AS) Keeps Trying
Prophet Nuh (AS) did not give up. He spent many years calling his people to Allah, day and night. But only a few believed in him, while the rest mocked him and ignored his warnings.
Allah’s Command
After 950 years of trying to guide his people, Allah told Nuh (AS) that those who refused to believe would never change. Allah then commanded Nuh (AS) to build a huge ship, called an ark. Allah said:
“Build the ark under My guidance. When the time comes, take with you your family, the believers, and a pair of every animal.”
Building the Ark
Nuh (AS) and the believers started building the ark, even though there was no water nearby. The disbelievers made fun of them and said, “Why are you building a boat in the middle of the land? Are you crazy?” But Nuh (AS) trusted Allah and kept working.
The Great Flood
When the ark was ready, Allah’s command came. Water started gushing out from the ground, and rain poured from the sky. It became a huge flood that covered everything. Nuh (AS), the believers, and the animals boarded the ark. But the disbelievers, including Nuh (AS)’s own son, refused to join.
Nuh (AS) begged his son, “Come with us and be safe!” But his son replied, “I will climb a mountain to escape the water.” Nuh (AS) said, “Nothing can save you except Allah’s mercy.” Sadly, the flood took him away.
After the Flood
The flood lasted for many days until everything was washed clean. Then, Allah commanded the earth to swallow the water and the rain to stop. The ark came to rest on a mountain called Al-Judi. Prophet Nuh (AS) and the believers thanked Allah for saving them.
