28. HARAM KHANA AUR USSAY HASIL KARNA [Consuming & receiving unlawful property]

HARAM KHANA AUR JIS TARAH BHI HO USE HASIL KARNA:

(1) Zulm kay taur par jese ghasab, khiyanat aur chori

(2) Hansi mazaq aur khel waghera kay zarie jesa keh juwe aur aalate lahwo la’ib aur is tarah kay zaraae’ se

RasullAllah ﷺ ne farmaya:

“Jo log Allah kay maal mein nahaq tasarruf karte hain, un kay lie Roz-e-Qayamat aag hogi” [Bukhari]

Sahih muslim mein hai jab Nabi ﷺ ne zikar farmaya: “aadmi dur daraz ka safar tay karta hai, paragandah haal, bikhre baal, paun gard aalood hain, woh aasman ki taraf hath buland karta hai aur kehta hai ae Rabb! ae Rabb! Jab keh uska khana, uska peena aur uska libas haram hai uski ghiza hi haram hai, tou aise shakhs ki dua kese qubool hogi”

Anas رضي الله عنه bayan karte hain: main ne arz kia: Allah kay Rasul!

“Beshak Allah ne tumhare mabain tumhare akhlaq taqseem kie jis tarah us ne tumhare darmian rizq taqseem kie aur Allah Dunia apne pasando napasand sabko deta hai lekin woh deen apne sirf pasandeedah shakhs ko hi ataa karta hai, pas Allah jis shakhs ko deen ataa kar de tou woh uska pasandeedah shakhs hai aur bandah jo haram maal kamata hai aur woh us mein se kharch karta hai taakeh us mein us kay lie barkat ho, aisa nahin hota aur woh us mein se jo sadqah karta hai woh bhi qubool nahin hota aur jo maal apne peeche chor jata hai tou woh uska Jahannum ki taraf zaade rah hai kyun keh Allah burai kay zarie burai ko khatam nahin karta balkeh woh naiki kay zarie burai ko khatam karta hai”

Ibne Umar رضي الله عنه bayan karte hain, RasullAllah ﷺ ne farmaya:

“Tum mein se koi shakhs apna munh matti mein dale yeh usse behtar hai keh woh apna munh haram mein dakhil kare” [Ahmad]

Yousuf bin Asbat ne farmaya: jab naujawan ibadat karta hai tou shaitan apne himayaton se kehta hai: dekho iska khana kesa hai? Agar uska khana bura ho tou kehta hai: use chor do, use takleef aur mashaqqato thakawat bardasht karne do, tumhare lie yeh khud hi kaafi hai, kyun keh iska haram kha kar mehnato koshish karna is kay lie nafa’mand nahin aur aap ﷺ kay farman se iski taaid hoti hai, jab aap ne us aadmi kay muta’alliq farmaya tha jiska khana pina to aur libas haram tha, uski ghiza aur parwarish haram se thi , iski dua kese qubool ho? Aik Hadith mein marwi hai keh Baitul maqdas par aik farishta har roz har ray awaz deta hai:

“Jo shakhs haram khata hai Allah uska nafil qubool karta hai na farz”

Wahab bin Ward bayan karte hain: agar tum sutoon ki tarah (hamesha) qiyam karo, tou yeh tere lie tab nafa’mand hai keh tu yeh dekhe keh tere pait mein halal dakhil hota hai ya haram

“Allah us shakhs ki namaz qubool nahin karta jab keh us kay pait Mein haram ho hatta keh woh is baare mein Allah kay huzoor taubah kare”

Ham haram mein waqe’ hone kay andeshe se halal kay 10 mein se 9 hisse bhi chor dia karte the

Ka’ab bin Ujra bayan karte hain RasullAllah ﷺ ne farmaya:

“Haram se tayyar hone wala jisam jannat mein nahin jaega “ [Tirmidhi; Ibne Hibban]

Zaid bin Arqam bayan karte hain: Abu Bakr ka aik ghulam tha jo un kay lie khiraj wusool kia karta tha ya’ani woh un kay maal par mamoor tha, woh har roz khiraj le kar ata tou ap us se puchte keh tum ise kahan se le kar ae ho? Agar ap use pasand karte tou use kha lete warna chor dete, bayan karte hain keh aik rat woh ap kay pas khana le kar aya , Abu Bakr roze se the, unhon ne usse aik luqma Lelia, ap usse puchna bhul gae, phir unhon ne pucha keh tum ise kahan se lae ho? Us ne jawab dia keh woh daure jahiliyat mein logon kay lie kahanat kia karta tha, halan keh main achi tarah kahanat nahin janta tha, main tou bas unhen dhoka deta tha, Abu Bakr ne farmaya: Tum par afsos ho, Tum tou mujhe halak karne lage the! Phir ap ne apna hath apne munh mein dala aur qay karne lage, lekin woh nikal nahin raha tha, apko bataya gaya keh woh pani kay sath niklega, unhon ne pani mangaya aur pani pi kar qay karne lage hatta keh ap kay pait mein jo kuch tha woh sab nikaal dia, ap se kaha gaya: Allah ap par rehem farmae, yeh sab kuch aik luqme (ko nikalne) ki khatir kia, unhon ne farmaya: agar ise nikalne mein meri jan bhi chali jati tou main use zarur nikalta kyun keh main ne RasullAllah ﷺ farmate hue suna hai:

“Jo jisam haram mein parwarish paae woh aag ka ziada mustahiq hai” [Bukhari]

Ulama رحمهم الله ne farmaya, is baab mein darj zail sab dakhil hain:

Tax wusool karne wala, khiyanat karne wala, ja’al saaz, chor, behooda kam karne wala, sood khane aur khilane wala, yateem ka maal khane wala, jhuti gawahi dene wala, udhar cheez le kar wapas na karne wala, rishwat khor, naap taul mein kami karne wala, kisi cheez kay aib chupa kar farokht karne wala, juwa baaz, jadugar, najumi, musawwir, zania, nauha karne wali, ikhtilat karne wali, dallal, jab woh baae’ ki ijazat kay bagher apni ujrat le le aur khareedar ko ziada qeemat ki khabar dene wala aur woh shakhs jo kisi azad aadmi ko farokht kar kay us ki qeemat kha jae

FASAL:

Yeh kis tarah? Aap ne farmaya:

“Woh namaz parha karte the, roze rakha karte the, zakat dia karte the aur hajj kia karte the lekin jab uhen koi haram cheez paish ki jati tou woh use le bhi lete the pas Allah ne un kay aa’mal ko zaya kardia” [1]

Ba’az saliheen se riwayat hai keh use uski maut kay ba’ad khuwab mein dekha gaya, tou use kaha gaya keh Allah ne tumhare sath kia sulook kia? Us ne kaha: behtar, lekin aik bat hai keh mujhe aik

Kia tumhare lie ibro nasaaih wazeh nahin hue? Jab keh tumhen misalen bayan kar di gai.

#28 Refusing Intimacy || Shaikh Zafar Ul Hasan Madani || Urdu || Poem on Major Sins

The Consumption of Haram

Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, cautions us saying,

{And do not eat up your property among yourselves for vanities.}

(AI-Baqarah: 188)

The verse means that Muslims are commanded by Allah to avoid taking the property of each other’s through illegal means. Abdullah Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, “What is meant in the verse are the false oaths through which a person takes the property of another with no right.”

The consumption of Haram is of two kinds:

 1) Taking another’s property through oppression such as in cases of treachery and robbery.

 2) Taking other’s property through unlawful forms of sports and games such as gambling and the lottery.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) has condemned the consumption of the Haram in many hadiths. Here,

we will quote the following hadiths to explain the gravity of this heinous sin:

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “Some people spend Allah’s wealth (i.e., the Muslims’ wealth) in an unjust manner; such people will be put in the Hell on the Day of Judgment.”¹

“… Then he mentioned (the case of) a man who, having journeyed far, is disheveled and dusty and who spreads out his hands to the sky saying, 0 Lord! 0 Lord! While his food is unlawful, his drink unlawful, his clothing unlawful, and he is nourished unlawfully, how can he be answered?” ²

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) ‘0 Messenger of Allah! Supplicate to Allah for me to make my Du’a’ acceptable.” The Messenger (pbuh) replied,”0 Anas! To have an acceptable Du’a’, you should eat only the Halal (Lawful) since a person may be deprived of his D~t’a’ being answered for forty days because of eating a mouthful of Haram food.”³

“Allah has decreed your behavior as He has decreed your provision. Surely, Allah grants the joys of this world to those whom He loves and those whom He loves not, but He does not grant religion except to those whom He loves. Therefore, those who are blessed with religion receive Allah’s Love. Assuredly, no one earns Haram money but what he spends, gives as charity or leaves behind will be his fuel in Hell-fire.

Verily Allah does not obliterate evil by means of evil, but He obliterates evil by means of good. .”⁴

“This worldly life is joyful and attractive. Therefore, whoever earns property through lawful means and spends it in a legal manner, Allah will reward him with Paradise. On the other hand, whoever earns property through unlawful means and spends it in illegal ends, Allah will make him dwell in the abode of humiliation (Hell). Some people also spend Allah’s wealth in an unjust manner according to their whims,.

Such people will be put in the Hell on the Day of Judgment.”¹

“Whoever pays no attention to the sources of his money, Allah will not concern about which gate he would enter Hell-Fire.”

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported a hadith that reads,

“To fill his mouth with dust is better to a person than putting Haram things in it.”²                  Yusuf Ibn Asbat (may Allah bestow mercy on him) said, “When a young man dedicates his life to worship, Satan asks his assistants about the source of his livelihood. If it is Haram, Satan says, ‘Don’t bother about his worship and dedication for his consumption of the Haram is sufficient to make his work null and void.'” This means that worship will be of no avail when the worshiper insists on eating Haram.

This meaning is maintained by the aforementioned Hadith that,

“… A man who, having journeyed far, is disheveled and dusty and who spreads out his hands to the sky (saying), ‘O Lord! O Lord!’ while his food is unlawful, his drink unlawful, his clothing unlawful, and he is nourished unlawfully, how can he be answered?”³

It is reported in the hadith that, “Every day and night, an angel calls upon people from above Jerusalem,

‘Whoever indulges in eating Haram, Allah will never accept his optional or obligatory acts of worship.”

‘Abdullah Ibn AI-Mubarak said, “Keeping myself clean from consuming a doubtful dirham is more charitable to me than giving 100,000 dirhams in charity.”

The Prophet (pbuh) said, “When the pilgrim, who journeys to Hajj, by Haram money, says. ‘Here I am! At your service.” Our Lord, here I am! At your service. Allah will say to him, “your calling is rejected and your Hajj is valueless.”⁴

He (pbuh) also said,”Whoever purchases a garment by ten dirhams which contain a Haram dirham, Allah never accepts his prayer as long as he wears this garment.”⁵

Wuhaib Ibn AI-Ward said, “If you were to stand in Prayer equally as this column stands in the mosque, it would be of no avail until you take care about your livelihood, i.e., to verify what is lawful from what is Haram.”

Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, “Allah never accepts the Prayer of a man who feed on Haram until he repents.”

Similar to the one who spends unlawful money in disobedience of Allah is the one who purifies his garment by urine. Assuredly, only water can purify one’s garment just only as the lawful can obliterate sins.”

‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “We used to abstain from nine tenths of Halal lest it may contain a Haram.”

Ka’b Ibn ‘Ayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) to have said,

“A body that is nourished unlawfully will not enter paradise.”¹

Zaid Ibn Arqam reported that, “Abu Bakr had a slave who used to give him some of his earnings. Abu Bakr used to eat from it. One day he brought something and Abu Bakr ate from it. The slave said to him, ‘Do you know what is this?’ The slave said, ‘Once, in the Pre-Islamic Period of ignorance I told somebody’s future though I did not know this knowledge of foretelling but I cheated him, and when he met me, he gave me something for that service, and that is what you have eaten from. Then Abu Bakr put his hand in hismouth and vomited whatever was present in his stomach.” Later on, Abu Bakr was asked, “O Abu Bakr! Have you done all this because of a Haram mouthful?” He replied, “By Allah! If I were to perish myself to get this mouthful out of me, I would have no hesitation to do so because I heard the Messenger of Allah say,

‘Everybody that is nourished unlawfully, Hell would be his abode.”²

However, the Muslim scholars state that the consumption of Haram includes various major sins such as treachery, oppression, robbery, usury, taking the orphan’s property with no right, false witness, bribery, deception, gambling, sorcery, foretelling, adultery, fornication, and the practice of wailing, lamenting and showing excessive grief for the dead.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “On the Day of Judgment, there will come some people with righteous deeds which are as huge as the Mount of Tuhamah. These righteous deeds would be soon scattered and invalidated. Consequently, those people would be thrown into Hell-fire.” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) wondered, “0 Messenger of Allah! How would this happen!” He (pbuh) replied, “Those people used to perform Prayer, fast, gives Zakah and offer Hajj, but they used to consume Haram so Allah invalidated their righteous deeds.”³

It is narrated that a righteous man was seen in a vision after his death and was asked about his affair.

Thereupon this man explained, “Fine! But I have been prevented from entering Paradise because of a needle which I borrowed in my life and did not give it back to its owner.”
