07. Kya Hijamah Se Roza Toot Jata Hai? [Does Cupping break the fast?]
Kya Hijamah Se Roza Toot Jata Hai?
Fuqaha ke darmiyan is masale mein ikhtilaf hai ke Hijamah karwane se rozedar ka roza toot-ta hai ya nahi. Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله ne bhi apne fatwe mein dono aqwaal ka zikr kiya hai. Unke nazdeek rajih aur mashhoor qawl yeh hai ke Hijamah se roza toot jata hai.
❁ Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله ka Fatwa
➤ Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله se poocha gaya ke kya Hijamah se roza fasid hota hai ya yeh hukm mansookh ho chuka hai?
Unhone jawab diya ke is masale mein ulama ka ikhtilaf hai. Kuch ulama kehte hain ke Hijamah se roza toot jata hai, jabke kuch kehte hain ke roza nahi toot-ta.
❁ Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله ne farmaya ke mashhoor qawl yeh hai ke Hijamah se roza toot jata hai, aur Nabi ﷺ ke ahkaam mein aakhri hukm yahi tha ke Hijamah rozedar ka roza tod deti hai. Isliye momin ke liye ehtiyat yeh hai ke roze ki halat mein Hijamah se bache aur Hijamah Iftar ke baad mein karwaye.

➤ Hadith ki Daleel
Nabi ﷺ ne farmaya:
“َفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ ”
“Hajjam aur jiski Hijamah ki gayi, dono ka roza toot gaya.”
Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith 2367
Is ke saath woh hadith bhi hai jisme aata hai:
“Hajjam aur jiski Hijamah ki gayi, dono ka roza toot gaya.”
Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله ne dono riwayaat ko is tarah jama kiya ke roze ki halat mein Hijamah ka pehle wala hukm baad mein mansookh ho gaya, aur baad ka hukm Hijamah se roza tootne ka hai. Unhone kaha ke agar Hijamah ki zarurat ho to raat mein karni chahiye.

Does Hijamah (cupping) invalidates
The scholars differed as to whether Hijamah (cupping) invalidates the fast of the fasting person. There are two well-known views.
The Fatwa of Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله
Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله was asked whether Hijamah invalidates the fast or whether this ruling had been abrogated.
He explained that the scholars differed on this issue. Some scholars held that Hijamah invalidates the fast, while others held that it does not.
Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله regarded the first view as the stronger and more correct view: that Hijamah invalidates the fast. He explained that the later ruling of the Prophet ﷺ was that cupping invalidates the fast. Therefore, the safer course for the fasting person is to avoid Hijamah during the day and have it done at night.

Evidence from the Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said:
أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ
“The cupper and the one who is cupped have both broken their fast.”
References: Abu Dawood (2367) and Ibn Majah (1679).
Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله cited this hadith as evidence for the view that Hijamah invalidates the fast.
Did the Prophet ﷺ Have Hijamah While Fasting?
Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنهما narrated that the Prophet ﷺ had Hijamah while he was fasting.
This narration is considered alongside the hadith:
أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ
Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله explained that the earlier permission to have Hijamah while fasting was abrogated by the later ruling that Hijamah invalidates the fast.
Therefore, if Hijamah is needed, it should be performed at night.
