18. JHOOTI GAWAAHI DENA [Perjury]
Jhooti Gawah
Allah ta’ala ne farmaya:
وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِٱللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا۟ كِرَامًا۞
“Aur woh log jo jhooti gawahi nahin dete”
(Al-Furqan 25: 72)
Asar [1] (qaule Sahabi) mein hai keh jhooti gawahi ko do maqamat par Allah ta’ala kay Sath shirk karne kay barabar qarar dia hai
Allah ta’ala ne farmaya:
ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ ۗ وَأُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمُ إِلَّا مَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلرِّجْسَ مِنَ ٱلْأَوْثَٰنِ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ قَوْلَ ٱلزُّورِ۞
“Aur jhooti baton se ijtinab karo”
(Al-Hajj 22: 30)
Hadith mein hai:
“Jhooti Gawahi dene wale kay qadam Roz-e-Qayamat hil nahin sakenge hatta keh us kay lie Jahannum wajib ho jae” [ Ibne Majah 2373, riwayat za’eef hai , iski sanad mein Muhammad bin Al Farat kazzab hai]
Musannif ne farmaya:
Jhooti Gawahi dene wala bare gunahon ka irtikab karta hai, un mein se ek kizbo iftira hai
Allah ta’ala ne farmaya:
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ كَذَّابٌ۞
“Yaqeenan Allah us shakhs ko hidayat nahin deta Jo hadd se guzarne wala kazzab ho”
(Ghafir 40: 28)
Hadith mein hai:
“Momin khiyanat aur jhoot ka irtikab nahin kar sakta” [Ahmad 252/5 Riwayat za’eef hai]
Jhooti Gawahi dene wala jhoot kay elawa zulm ka irtikab karta hai keh woh kisi shakhs kay khilaf
[1] yeh asar nahin balkeh hazeem bin faatik se marfoo’ riwayat hai, Abu Dawood mein hai aur alfaze Tirmidhi kehte hain, unhon ne ye ayat tilawat farmai:
ۖ فَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلرِّجْسَ مِنَ ٱلْأَوْثَٰنِ
Jhooti Gawahi deta hai hatta keh woh apni gawahi se us ka maal , uski izzat aur uski jaan le leta hai.
Teesra us ne us shakhs par zulm kia jis kay Haq mein jhooti Gawahi di kyun keh us tarah us ne usko Haram maal ka waris bana dia aur us ne yeh Haram maal us ki gawahi kay baa’is lia, tou us kay lie Jahannum wajib hogai.
Aur aap ﷺ ne farmaya:
“Main jis shakhs kay lie us kay Bhai kay maal mein se Nahaq hissa dene ka faisla karun tou woh us maal ko na le, (Nahaq soorat mein) main tou us kay lie mehez Jahannum ki aag ka tukra kaat kar de raha hun” [Bukhari: 2680; Muslim: 1713]
Jhooti Gawahi dene se chotha gunah yeh hota hai keh woh shakhs Allah ta’ala ki Haram kardah cheez ko mubah qarar de deta hai aur Allah ne jo maalo jaan aur izzar mehfuz ki thi yeh us gawahi kay zarie use mubah qarar de deta hai
RasullAllah ﷺ ne farmaya:
“Kia main tumhen kabeera gunahon kay muta’alliq na bataun?
Allah kay Sath shareek thehrana, walidain ki nafarmani karna, sun lo jhooti baat karna aur jhooti Gawahi dena.
Aap ﷺ bar bar yeh farmate rahe , hatta keh ham ne kaha keh Kash ap khamosh hojaen” [Bukhari: 2654; Muslim: 87]
Ham Allah ta’ala se har qisam ki balaa se salamti aur aafiat ki darkhwast karte hain Aur jo shakhs sharaab piye aur usse nasha parh jae tou Allah is halat mein faut hojae tou wo butt poojne wale ki maut marega aur Allah par haq hai keh usse “طيبة الخبال” kia cheez hai? Ap ne farmaya: Jahannumiyo ki peep aur khoon ka nichoor”. [Ibne Hibban]
Abdullah bin Abi Adfi bayan karte hain: aadi sharaab noshi ki halat mein faut ho tou wo laat aur izzi kay pujaari ki maut marta hai, kaha gaya: bataen kia aadi sharaab noshi wo hai, jo apni sharaab se hosh mein na aae. Unho ne kaha: nahi , balkeh is se wo shakhs murad hai keh jab bhi usse sharaab muyassar ajae, khuwah saalon kay ba’ad ho, wo usse pi jae.
Zikar kiya gaya hai keh jo shakhs sharaab peeta, wo jis waqt sharaab peeta hai tou wo us waqt Momin nahi hota. Hazrat Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه, Nabi ﷺ se riwayat karte hain, Ap ne farmaya:
“Chour jab chouri karta hai, tou wo us waqt Momin nahi hota, Zaani jab zinna karta hai, tou wo jis waqt zinna karta hai, us waqt Momin nahi hota, aur sharaab noshi jab sharaab noshi karta hai tou wo us waqt Momin nahi hota aur us kay ba’ad touba pesh ki jaegi.” [Bukhari]
Aur Hadith mein hai:
“Jo shakhs zinna karta hai ya sharaab peeta hai tou Allah us se Emaan ko is tarah nikal leta hai, jis tarah insaan apne sar we qamees utarta hai”. [Mustadrak Hakim]
Aur is mein hai: Jo shakhs sham kay waqt sharaab peeta hai tou wo subah kay waqt mushrik hojata hai aur jo subah kay waqt usse peeta hai tou wo sham kay waqt mushrik hojata hai.
Aur is mein hai: Nabi ﷺ se riwayat hai keh Ap ne farmaya: “Jannat ki Khushbo panchh Soo Saal ki musafat se ajati hai, lekin Waldain ka nafarman, ahsaan jatlane wala, sharaab ka

18. Bearing False Witness
AIIah, Most High says;
{Those who witness no falsehood and if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honorable (avoidance)}
(AI-Furqan: 72)
{And shun the word that is false}
(AI-Hajj: 30)
It was narrated that,
“Bearing false witness is mentioned twice as equal as associating others with Allah (in the Qur’an)”¹
The Prophet (pbuh) said,
“On the Day of Judgement, the feet of the person who bore false witness will not stir from their place before their owner is condemned to Hell.”²
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said that the one who bore false witness has committed many major sins among which is:
(a) lying and false allegation. Allah the Most High says,
{Truly Allah guides not one who transgress and lies}.
(Ghafir: 28)
“The believer is created familiar with everything except treachery and lying” ³
(b) He oppressed the one who bore witness against him as he appropriated his property, honor and soul.
(c) He oppressed the one who bore witness for him as he brought unlawful property to him and thus made him entail the Hell-Fire.”
The Prophet (pbuh) said,
“]f I decide in favor of a person who is not entitled to the thing, I do not allow him but a piece of fire”.⁴
(i.e., the person receiving it will go to Hell.)
(d) He made what Allah forbids of property, blood and honor permissible.

The Prophet (pbuh) said,
“Shall I tell you of the worst major sins? Worshipping others with Allah, showing disrespect to parents,giving a false statement and testifying to the truth of a falsehood. ” And he kept repeating it until we were telling ourselves (out of sympathy for him because of the strain of repeating it) “]f only he would be silent”.¹
