40. IHSAAN JATLAANA [Reminding people of one’s charity]

 EHSAN JATANA

Allah ta’ala ne farmaya:

“Iman daaron!

Woh shakhs hai jo apne izaar ya apne kapre ya apni kameez ya apni shalwar ko is qadar latkae keh woh paun tak hojae islie keh aap ﷺ ne farmaya:

“Izaar jo takhnon se neeche hai woh aag mein hai “ [Abu Dawood; Ibne Majah]

Hadith mein yeh bhi hai:

“3 qisam kay log jannat mein nahin jaenge apne walidain ka nafarman aadi sharab nosh aur ehsan jaltlane wala “ [Muslim: 106]

Neez farmaya:

“Dhoke baaz bakheel aur ehsan jatane wala jannat mein nahin jaenge”

Phir RasullAllah ﷺ ne Allah عزوجل ka farman tilawat farmaya:

“Iman daaron!

Tou us ne us par jo mujh par ahsaan kiya tha. Nidamat jatlai.”

“Tum ne jo ahsaan kiya tha’ us par ahsaan jata kar usse zay’e kar diya. Wo shakhs sakhi nahi jo ahsaan jatane kay liye koi cheez deta hai.”

NASIHAT:

Gunahon ki taraf barhne wale ! Tujhe kis cheez ne jahil bana diya ! Tou us zaat kay bare mein kab tak dhoke mein mubtila rahega jis ne tujhe dheel di goya keh us ne tujhe bekar chhor diya hai? Goya keh to maut kay intizar mein hai halankeh wo tujh par aachuki aur us ne tujhe hal’lak kar diya jabkeh kooch hai aur farishte ne thaati khouf zida kar diya hai. Azmaish ne khuwaish kay ba’ad tujhe qaid kar diya aur tujhe bandh kar rakh diya aur to Azim boojh par Nadim hua jis ne tujhe bojhal kar diya. Fani cheez par mut’main hone wale! Teri khataen kis qadar hain. Tera mehboob jo hua karta tha wo kahan muntaqil hogaya hai? Aur jahan tak teri wa’az o nasihat ka ta’aluq hai tou wo us kay jisam talf hogai goya keh wo konwen ki teh mein utar gai wo maal kaseer aur umeed taweel kahan hai? Kia wo apne amal kay sath apni lehd mein tanha nahi gaya. Wo jo ghaflat mein apne kapre ko tak’kabur o ghuroor kay sath ghaseeta aur utarta tha kahan hai? Kia us ne us kay sath hi safar shoro nahi kiya aur wo ab tak kahan jaa puhncha?

Allah ki qasam! Us ki sa’adat mandi ka sitara ghaib aur chhup gaya wo pehle Shahnsha’ zoor awaz’ mutakabir log kahan hain? Un kay amwal kay koi aur malik ban gae jab keh Duniya aik gardish hai.

Reminding Recipients of one’s charity to them

Allah Most High says,{O ye who believe! Cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury.}

(AI-Baqarah: 264)

AI- Wahdi commented on this verse by saying, “It is the one who reminds the recipients of his charity.”

AI-Kalbi said, “It is the one who counts his charity as a favor upon Allah and injures the recipients of it.”

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) declared,

“There is one people whom Allah will not speak to, look at, or exonerate on the Day of Judgment, and they will have a painful torment. they are the one who wears the hem of his garment low (out of pride), he who reminds recipients of his charity to them, and he who sells merchandise swearing that he paid more for it than he actually did. “

He (pbuh) also said,”Three men will never enter Paradise. Those disobedient to their parents, the drunkards and the one who used to remind the recipients of his charity with his grace.”¹

Another narration to this Hadith states,”Paradise is not the abode for the fraud, the niggard and the person who reminds the recipients of his charity.”²

Furthermore, The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

“Beware of reminding others by your grace for it would nullify the recompense and reward: The Messenger (pbuh) then recited. {O ye who believe! Cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury.}

(AI-Baqarah: 264)

Once Ibn Sireen heard a man reminding another man of his grace to him so he said, “It is better to keep silent for there is no good in beneficence when it is counted.

Some wise men used to say, “Whoever reminds others with his beneficence, will have no compensation for it. Moreover, who is admired by his deed will have no reward for it.”
